Dr. Poirier grew up in Waterville where his father and grandfather also were dentists. He graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and Tufts Dental School in Boston. He then completed a one year internship at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, NY which is affiliated with Strong Memorial Hospital and University of Rochester. He returned to Waterville to set up his practice in 1978.

He has served as President of the Kennebec Valley Dental Society and Executive Board member of the Maine Dental Association. He has volunteered numerous hours in getting a low/no income dental clinic started in Waterville. He attends more than 70 hours of continuing education annually.

He lives in Oakland with his wife and they have two adult sons. He enjoys skiing and biking in his free time.

Carol - dental assistant with the practice since 1992. Married with two grown sons, Logan and Dylan. She enjoys motorcycling, skiing, camping and the outdoors in general. In her spare time she is also an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay.

Sheila - dental assistant with Dr. Poirier since 1982. Married with two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, quilting, cross-country skiing and kayaking.

Jayne - business assistant in the practice since 1992 who lives in Skowhegan with her husband Dennis, three cats and two dogs. She has two grown sons, Ross and Alex. Activities she enjoys are quilting, walking her greyhounds, spending time at camp, watching 30's and 40's black and white films and community volunteer work.

Lin - A 1977 dental hygiene graduate from University of Maine, Bangor campus. She has been with the practice since 1995. She lives in Augusta with her husband Jeff. They have two grown sons and a dog. She enjoys playing in the Rocky Bay Pipe Band, cooking, sewing and spending time at camp with her family.

Nora - A dental hygiene graduate of SUNY Farmingdale, NY in 1982. She joined the practice in 2003. She lives in Waterville with her husband Charlie and young daughter Isabelle. Her hobbies include yoga, biking and fine restaurants.

Tresscia a 2002 dental hygiene graduate of the University of Maine, Bangor campus. She has been with the practice since 2006. She lives in Albion with her husband Terry and son Thomas. She enjoys going to her sons sporting events, spending time with family and staying fit to counter her love of chocolate.

Laurie - Wife of Dr. Poirier, she has been with the practice since 1978 as a dental assistant and manager. Her hobbies include reading, biking, skiing, kayaking, travel and reading.
